Here's what readers are saying about Centre of the Labyrinth

An emotional story with strong impact

"The author offers an intriguing story with a strong setting and characters who come alive on the pages of this book. Dialogue is natural and flows from scene to scene. Centre of the Labyrinth is an emotional story with a strong impact, which will certainly stay with readers long after they finish the book. Human nature plays a big part in this book, depicting both the best and the worst of mankind. . . .

With this type of story, the reader expects to find new surprises at each turn of the page. Ms. Jamieson shows the depth of her understanding of human nature in this story."- Writer's Digest.

Caribbean literature at its best

"I enjoyed the authenticity of Centre of the Labyrinth by Rosetta J. Jamieson. The novel portrays Jamaica and Jamaicans as they are, not in the superficial manner that they are often presented in Hollywood movies, but with the true flavor of the Jamaican lifestyle. It captures a part of the heritage of the Jamaican people. Yet, it is not exclusive. Due to the universal themes of love, mother-daughter relationship, and class conflict, anyone on any part of the globe can relate to this novel and enjoy it. I highly recommend that readers add this to their reading list."

Hot Like Fire

There is so much to say about this crossfire of a book. In taking an allover perspective, this book is the best that I have read thus far. It is very interesting and realistic to West Indian upbringing. It brought me back to my roots, and reading this book was a pleasure, down to the last word.

A Five Star Read

"Once I started reading Centre of the Labyrinth, I had a very difficult time putting it down. It is the tale of Deita Folkes and Robert Laeton that captures the whole essence of love, class, and mother-daughter relationships, and the impact the combination of all these factors have.

Being from Jamaica, I was very proud to see values and the whole essence of our culture that is portrayed in this book. This is a MUST READ, not only for all Jamaicans, but for all women, as we could all relate to Deita Folkes, in one way or another. I give this book five stars."

Absolutely Fantastic Book!

Your book was absolutely fantastic. I couldn't wait to get on the train to continue reading. . . . This was brilliantly written. I rode the roller coaster of emotions with each character, and I especially identified with Deita. I felt her anxiety, her anger, her confusion; her wanting to allow herself to feel happy but fearing the pain and punishment that would come if she did. I felt her emptiness and "worthlessness" as she struggled to find her identity.

This was truly a great literary experience and I am especially proud that it is from a fellow Miconian, Jamaican, and co-worker. I will definitely be recommending your book to all who like to read a fantastic book.
